Syllabus for CBT:

a.       Mathematics:

Elementary Algebra, Numbering System, Decimals, Fractions, Percentage, Measurement, Time and Work, Time and Distance, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, etc.

b.       General Intelligence and Reasoning:

Analogies, Number and Alphabetical Series Completion, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement-Conclusion, Statement-Action Courses, Decision Making, Maps, Graphing Interpretation, etc.

c.       General Awareness:

Current events of national and international importance, Games and Sports, Indian Art and Culture, Indian Literature, Indian Monuments and Places, Indian General Science and Life Sciences (up to 10th CBSE), Indian History and Freedom Struggle, Indian and World Physical, Social and Economic Geography, Indian Politics and Governance-Constitution and Political System, General Scientific and Technology Other significant World Organizations, Environmental Issues Relating to India and the World at Large, Computer Basics and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Indian Economy, Indian Economy, Indian and World Personalities, Indian Flagship Government Programs, Indian Flora and Fauna, Indian Government and Public Sector Organizations, etc.

Minimum proportion of eligibility scores in different classifications: UR-40 per cent, OBC-30 per cent, SC-30 per cent, ST-25 per cent. Negative markings shall be entered in the examination and 1/3 of the allocated marks for each query shall be deducted for any wrong answer.

C.       TYPING SKILL TEST (TST)

For the position of Senior Clerk cum Typist, the Typing Skill Test shall be of a qualifying nature (marks acquired in the Typing Skill Test shall not be added to the CBT mark during the preparation of the merit list). The worker should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 words per minute (WPM) in Hindi on Personal Computer only without instruments for editing and spell-checking.

D.      DOCUMENT VERIFICATION:-

a. The qualified worker will be called for Document Verification and an e-Call letter will be accessible for download from the RRC website.

b. Production of initial documents Date of birth, Educational Qualification Caste Certificate, together with one set of self-certified photocopies of all certificates, 2 latest passport size Photographs (self-certified on the inverse side) and call letter, and Valid.

HOW TO APPLY

Eligible Serving Western Railway employees may apply ONLINE through the website www.rrc-wr.com.

1)       Employees are needed to go to the link given for filling out the ONLINE application and to fill out the private details/BIO-DATA closely.

2)       Employees should ensure that their Name, Father's Name and Birth Date correspond to the entries recorded in the Enrolment or equivalent certificate.

3)       Employees are advised to indicate their personal mobile number and valid personal e-mail IDs in the ONLINE application and to keep them active during the entire Examination process.

4)       Employees are also recommended to visit the RRC website commonly in order to obtain the recent data or any modifications to this notice. Communication with staff will only be produced via SMS & e-mail. Employees are advised to provide their own Mobile number/e-mail ID only in order to obtain such communications.

5)       A color photograph of the size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm (not more than three months from the date of application) with a clear front view of the employees without a cap and sunglasses should be uploaded. The picture should be in JPEG-100 DPI format only. The size of the photo uploaded should be up to 70 kb. Employees may notice that the RRC may, at any point, dismiss a request for uploading old / unclear photos along with an online application or for any important variation between photos uploaded along with an online application and the physical appearance of staff. Employees are advised to bring a copy of the same photograph along with Hall Ticket / e–Call Letter and the original valid photo ID at that moment.

6)       A Unique Registration Number will be produced and given to each individual during the submission of the ONLINE application. Employees are recommended to retain / note their Registration Number for further stages of the review process / correspondence.

7)       In order to prevent a last-minute rush, staff are recommended, in their own interest, to submit an ONLINE application well before the closing date.
